Maintenance
Website Maintenance and AMC
Websites decay quietly. Plugins go out of date, certificates expire, forms silently stop delivering, and nobody notices until an enquiry is lost. Maintenance is the scheduled work that keeps that from happening.
What we do
Core and plugin updates
Applied on staging first, then to production, so an update never takes the live site down.
Security patching
Monitoring for known vulnerabilities in what your site actually runs, and patching promptly.
Backups
Scheduled off-server backups with restores tested rather than assumed.
Uptime and form monitoring
Alerts when the site goes down or an enquiry form stops delivering.
Bug fixes and small changes
A defined monthly allowance for content edits and fixes, tracked openly.
Performance checks
Periodic speed and Core Web Vitals review with the fixes that follow.
What you receive
- Scheduled update cycle applied via staging
- Off-server backups with tested restore
- Uptime, SSL and form delivery monitoring

What is not included
- New feature development or a full redesign
- Large-scale content migration or bulk data entry

Anything outside the plan is quoted separately, so your recurring cost stays predictable.

What a plan covers
- Core, plugin and theme updates applied via staging
- Security patching for known vulnerabilities
- Scheduled off-server backups with tested restores
- Uptime, SSL and enquiry-form delivery monitoring
- Minor content edits within your monthly allowance
- Bug fixes on existing functionality
- Periodic performance and security reporting
What it does not cover
- New features or functionality not already on the site
- Full redesigns or new page templates
- Bulk content migration or large data entry
- Third-party paid licences and subscription renewals
- Recovery of sites we have no access to or backups for
- Design work for marketing campaigns
These are quoted separately when you need them. Naming the boundary keeps your monthly cost predictable and avoids the argument about what was implied.
Maintenance or AMC?
An AMC is the same scope committed for a year and paid upfront, usually at a lower effective rate. Monthly maintenance is the same work billed month to month with more flexibility. The included and excluded lists above apply identically to both — the only difference is the commitment and the price.
From idea
to online.
Eight stages, in order, with what happens at each one. Domain and hosting decisions are made in week one rather than the night before launch.
- 01
Discover
Week 1Understand the business, the buyer and the constraints.
What you sell, who decides, what they need to know first, and what is currently getting in the way. This is also where domain and hosting decisions get made rather than left to launch week.
- 02
Plan
Week 1–2Sitemap, page structure and content requirements.
Every page defined, every URL agreed, and a clear list of what content is needed from you. Waiting on content is the single most common cause of delay, so we surface it early.
- 03
Design
Week 2–4Wireframes, then full design for mobile and desktop.
Structure is agreed before visuals. You review a clickable prototype rather than a static image, so navigation and flow can be judged properly.
- 04
Develop
Week 4–7Build the front-end, CMS, forms and integrations.
Built on staging where you can watch it come together. Content is loaded as it becomes available rather than in one blocked-up batch at the end.
- 05
SEO foundation
Week 6–7Metadata, structure, schema, sitemap and redirects.
Technical SEO is part of the build, not an add-on afterwards. For redesigns, this is also where the URL map and redirect plan get finalised.
- 06
Test
Week 7–8Devices, browsers, forms, speed and accessibility.
Real device testing, form delivery verification, Core Web Vitals measurement and an accessibility pass — before launch, not after a complaint.
- 07
Launch
Week 8DNS, hosting, SSL, redirects and Search Console.
A controlled cutover with a rollback plan. Redirects verified by crawl, Search Console and analytics confirmed working on day one.
- 08
Maintain
OngoingUpdates, backups, monitoring and support.
Scheduled work under a maintenance plan or AMC, so the site does not quietly decay after handover.
Durations describe a typical ten-to-fifteen page business website. Your timeline is confirmed in the proposal.
